Mr. McMillan was born in Bonham on March 7, 1921. After graduating from high school, he joined the United States Navy. He worked in airplane maintenance and served in the Pacific theater during World War II. He loved his country and the Navy. After serving faithfully for 21 years, he retired from the Navy as a chief petty officer. Robert "R.M." moved back to Texas, where he met and married Billie, "the prettiest bank teller I have ever seen." Billie and Robert were married in 1967. While in Honey Grove, R.M. became a ranch foreman, enjoying the labor involved with ranch work as well as hunting and being free to explore the beautiful natural world of Texas. Their daughter, Roxanne, completed their family. In 1967, they moved to Euless where R.M. spent 10 years working at LTV. His expertise as a technical writer then took him to Bell Helicopter. He retired from Bell Helicopter. Robert loved life and lived each day fully. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and cooking. His love of family, friends and Christian fellowship made him the life of any gathering. He always greeted everyone with a big hug and a warm smile. He told many stories and they were all filled with very good and rich memories. We will cherish his loving attitude in our hearts forever. R.M. was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Euless, Tokyo Masonic Lodge #2, Scottish Rite of Dallas and Moslah Shriners of Fort Worth. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Hazel and Robert McMillan Sr.; and two brothers, Roy McMillan of Bonham and Newman McMillan of Albany, Ga.
