Roxie Dean Henley Hammons, 85, born to Felix and Mary Henley on Nov. 21, 1928, in Cooke County, passed away Sunday, Oct. 19, 2014. Funeral: 10 a.m. Wednesday at Lucas Funeral Home, Hurst. Interment: 2 p.m. in Tyson Cemetery. Memorials: The family asks that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Lion Hospice, 2208 N. Highway 121, Suite 180, Bedford, Texas 76021 or Mission Printing, 2707 Medlin Drive, Arlington, Texas 76015. Roxie was a member of the College Hill Church of Christ. She retired from the Fort Worth ISD. She volunteered regularly at Mission Printing. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Howard Doyle Hammons; and son, Jim. Survivors: She is survived by her son, Ken Hammons and his wife, Brenda, of Kingwood; grandchildren, Stephanie Campbell, Carrie Beaver, Hollie Hammons and Logan Hammons; stepgrandson, Rusty Murray; five great-grandchildren; three stepgreat-grandchildren; two stepgreat-great-grandchildren; and sisters, Estelle McKinney, Augustine Jones and Margie Bishop; and daughter-in-law, Jo Bess Ashton (Jim).
