GRAPEVINE -- Sherrie Lynn Crow Drakeford, 51, a loving wife, generous mother, accomplished writer, cherished friend and devoted Christian, died Friday, July 15, 2005, after a long and courageous battle with breast cancer and MS. ??? Memorial service: 7 p.m. Monday at Crown of Life Lutheran Church, 6605 Pleasant Run Road, Colleyville, with the Rev. David R. Jung, senior pastor, officiating. ??? Memorials: In lieu of flowers, Sherrie asked that gifts be made to Texas Wesleyan University, 1201 Wesleyan St., Fort Worth 76105, in care of The Sherrie Drakeford Memorial Scholarship Fund; and Crown of Life Lutheran Church Building Fund, 6605 Pleasant Run Road, Colleyville 76034. ??? Sherrie was born June 2, 1954, in Fort Worth. ??? She graduated from Paschal High School and received a bachelor's degree in English from UT Arlington and a master's degree in radio, television and film from TCU. ??? She was named an Honorary Alumna by the Texas Wesleyan University Alumni Association. ??? Sherrie began her career as broadcast service director for TCU. ??? She joined Texas Wesleyan University's news and information office and was named director of communications and later served as a grants writer for the Office of Advancement. ??? Sherrie traveled extensively. In fact, her family and friends often marveled at her tendency to plan major excursions during some of her most difficult times. She rarely let her personal experiences or difficulties get the best of her. ??? She was preceded in death by father, Don Crow of Fort Worth. ??? Survivors: Husband of 20 years, Brenton; sons, Sean and Ian; mother, Jean Crane of Fort Worth; grandmother, Cleo Young of El Dorado, Ark.; uncle and aunt, Ernest and Delores Muckelrath of Arkansas; cousin, Nancy Graham of Flower Mound; sister, Cynthia Carnes; nieces, Erin and Kristin Carnes of Nashville.
