Verda Shepherd

NORTH RICHLAND HILLS -- Verda Edna Shepherd, 85, passed away Sunday, May 16, 2010, in Fort Worth.        Service: 11 a.m. Thursday at French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE, Albuquerque, N.M. Interment: Fairview Cemetery. Visitation: The family will receive friends 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at French Mortuary.        Verda was a telephone operator before she married. She enjoyed watching the Dallas Mavericks. She was a gentle soul and loved her family dearly.        Verda was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, John Bartelle Shepherd.        Survivors: Daughter, Frances Cooper and husband, Steven; son, James B. Shepherd and wife, Patty; brothers, Bill Shepherd and Jim Shepherd; sister, Ann Roach; grandchildren, Brady Cooper, Dalton Shepherd, Karen Cooper and Victoria Shepherd; and numerous nieces and nephews.
