HALTOM CITY -- Wayne William Kamper, Jr. rejoined beloved family and friends who have gone before on Wednesday, November 26, 2014. A celebration of life service will be held at the Masonic Center in downtown Fort Worth, 1100 Henderson St, from 5-7PM on Sunday, November 30. There will be a potluck, viewing and visitation from 5-7 which will culminate with the Masonic funeral service at 7. All family and friends are welcome whether or not able to bring a dish. Burial services with honors will commence at 11AM on Monday, December 01, 2014 at the DFW National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials in his honor be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children. Born September 20, 1950 in Vinton, IA to Wayne William Kamper, Sr. and Bernice (Wheeler) Kamper, Wayne was a longtime resident of Haltom City, TX. After attending L.D. Bell High School, Wayne proudly joined the U.S. Marines in 1971 to serve his country. After his service and honorable discharge, Wayne returned to civilian life, retiring from Reeder Distributors as a fuel truck driver in 2009. Much of his later life was dedicated to civic, charitable, and fraternal activities. Wayne was a very proud member of Haltom City-Riverside Masonic Lodge #1331. He was a past Master of his lodge, and at the time of his passing served as the Chaplain. The lodge's recurring dinner for civil servants was recently named in his honor as the Wayne Kamper, Jr. Feed the City Day. He received the Golden Trowel Award, the highest award a lodge can bestow on a member who defines excellence in service to others. Wayne was also an active member of Moslah Shriners in Fort Worth, having served as a Past President and life member of the Drum & Bugle Corps, Past President of the Clowns, Past President of the Texas Shrine Drum Corps Association and First Ceremonial Master of the appointed Divan. Wayne was a social member of both the Moslah Bedouins and Moslah Motor Corps and was an honorary member of the Moslah Mystic Wheels. Up until his passing Wayne served as the official Moslah Temple Photographer. Moslah presented him with the 2014 Luther Carmichael Award for his tireless service and dedication as well as co-dedicating the 2014 Shrine Circus in his honor. Wayne also supported the Daughters of the Nile, a ladies' organization supporting the Shriners Hospitals for Children, to which his wife, Ginny, and daughter, Randi belong. Wayne served innumerable hours supporting these organizations and especially the Shriners Hospitals for Children, which provide no-cost care for crippled and burned children all over North America. He joins in heaven his parents, daughter Donna Kamper, nephew Cole Kamper, sister Becky Kamper, and very special friend Bruce Padgitt. Wayne is survived by his adoring wife, Ginny, his “Baby Girl” Randi (Kamper) Felmey and husband Brad, his son Wayne William Kamper, III and wife Traci, daughter Brenda (Kamper) Davis and husband Jeff, son Jesse Chenoweth and partner Autumn, brother Mark Kamper and wife Dawn, brother Ronnie Kamper and fiancé Cathy, numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and one great-grandchild.
