NORTH RICHLAND HILLS -- William Harold Albritton, Sr., age 82, died peacefully at home on October 17, 2014. Services will be held Monday, October 20, 2014 at 10:00 AM in the sanctuary of North Richland Hills Baptist Church, 6955 Boulevard 26, N. Richland Hills, TX 76180. Interment will be at Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park, 5725 Boulevard 26, Colleyville, TX 76034. Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 19, 2014 from 2:00-4:00 at Lucas Funeral Home, 1321 Precinct Line Rd. Hurst, TX 76053. Born July 26, 1932 in Dallas, Texas, to J.L. and Azilee Albritton, Harold graduated from Fort Worth's Amon Carter High School in 1949. He later graduated from Texas A&M College in 1958 and remained a Fightin' Texas Aggie until the end. In 1961 he earned a professional degree as a Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Texas Dental School with honors. Harold served honorably in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War for four years, attaining the rank of Sgt. Major of the Base Hospital in Mountain Home, Idaho. On the glorious day of July 21, 1952, Harold married the love of his life, Mary Lane Granade in Aurora, Colorado. In 1961, Harold began his dental practice in Hurst, Texas where he worked until he retired in 2002. He loved his profession and was very admired by his patients and staff. In addition to becoming a successful dentist, Harold was also active in the community and served on the Hurst City Council for two years. Harold accepted Jesus as his savior at age eight. He and his wife Lane were members of North Richland Hills Baptist Church and attended the L.H. Coleman Bible Study when he entered the Kingdom of Heaven. Harold will be especially remembered for his loving and benevolent nature and the endless support he provided his friends, family, acquaintances, missions, and charities. Those who knew Harold described him as a hard working and fun loving generous man of God. His beloved parents, J.L. and Azilee Albritton, and his revered in-laws, P.D. and Rueline Granade preceded Harold in death. Survivors include his loving wife of 62 years, Mary Lane Albritton; his son, Bill and wife, Karen Albritton; his daughter, Rosemary and husband, Bruce Shaunfield; his son, Brett and wife, Marla Albritton; grandchildren, Chris Albritton, Kirstin Martin, Sara Shaunfield, Jessica Holt, Emilee Albritton, and Kadee Albritton; great grandchildren, Travis and Wyatt Albritton, CPL Justin Martin USMC, Garrett Martin, and Logan Holt and his precious puppy, Wendy Sue. Also survived by sister, Janell Long and husband, Joe, John Albritton and wife, Gayle, sister Rebecca Ponder and husband, Will, brother-in-law, Dawson Granade and wife, Cindi along with numerous nieces and nephews. Special thanks to all the doctors and staff who attended him at HEB Harris Methodist Hospital, Community Hospice, and all the family and friends for their help and support.
