SOUTHLAKE -- William David Forsythe, 96, a native of Galesburg, Ill., died at his home on Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2015. Funeral Mass: 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 3, at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church in North Richland Hills. Burial 1:30 p.m. in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery with military honors. The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Lucas Funeral Home in Hurst. Bill served in the U.S. Army as a lieutenant and fought in World War II at the battle of Normandy and Sainte-Mere-Eglise. Bill was born May 18, 1918, to William Henry and Minnie Elizabeth Humphrey Forsythe. He married Doris Marie Loebach in Chicago, Ill., on May 10, 1947, and was the father of six children. Bill was a wonderful father, a master storyteller, and adored by all. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Nancy. Survivors: His wife of 67 years, Doris; and his children, Bill, Linda Wheeler (Bob), Dan (Ellen Tiger), Kathleen Hallmark, and Tim (Brenda Alexander). Bill is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
